Nutritional Support at Full Life Chiropractic
Healthy Eating Recommendations
Dr. Andrew is pleased to offer holistic nutritional guidance to his patients. Because nutrition is a vital component of a healthy lifestyle, Full Life Chiropractic understands the need of supporting patients outside of the treatment rooms.
Below are some of Dr. Andrew’s favorite nutrition recommendations!
Get Your Vitamin D
Vitamin D is known for strengthening bones and teeth by helping the body absorb calcium. Vitamin D additionally offers protection against many illnesses and chronic diseases. It also improves the body’s natural response to bacterial infections and helps increase the production of antimicrobial peptides which are very important in boosting immunity. Especially in the Winter months, we all need extra doses of Vitamin D. The following foods are good sources of Vitamin D: salmon, herring and sardines, tuna, mushrooms, egg yolks, milk from cows, and certain cereals and oatmeal. Dr. Andrew can offer additional information on how much Vitamin D you should consume daily at your visit.
Eat Your Vegetables
This is one of the most important nutritional facts! Vegetables are an incredible source of many vital nutrients and minerals that boost the body’s immune system and help us maintain healthy blood pressure. They have lots of fiber, support a healthy weight, and protect the body against cancers and other diseases. Our favorites are cauliflower, cabbage, broccoli, and Brussel Sprouts (these inhibit the growth of cancer cells). If you are looking for easy ways to get more veggies in your diet, we suggest juicing them. Dr. Andrew can tell you his favorite green juice recipe at your next visit!
Limit the Alcohol
We know this is a hard one, but research has proven that alcohol causes immunodeficiencies, which makes one more susceptible to diseases. Alcohol has also been linked to cancer. According to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse, “people who drink too much may experience health problems, increased risk for certain cancer..and may result in Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome, a brain disorder.” At Full Life Chiropractic, we are happy to share more tips that will help you build a stronger immune system.
Weight Management
According to the American Obesity Association, individuals who are overweight or obese are more likely to experience back pain. These individuals tend to carry extra weight in their stomach area because extra weight pulls one’s pelvis forward, which strains the lower back and creates low back pain. Women who are obese or who have a large weight size are particularly at risk for low back pain.

Get Your Health Back on Track
We believe that weight loss can contribute to partial or complete reduction of back pain. We have supported many patients along their weight loss journey and have witnessed their pain levels dramatically diminish. According to the American Spine Society, individuals that stay within 10 pounds of their ideal weight are the ones least likely to experience spinal problems, particularly chronic lower back pain. However, please note that we are excited to work with you, wherever your weight falls. You deserve to have a healthy spine and we want to help.
